Class 11 Visit to Netherseal Primary School
Class 11 visited Netherseal Primary School on Friday 25th November - our partner school. We had lots of fun meeting new friends, and the year 4 children enjoyed seeing friends they had made last year. During the day, we did lots of fun activities. We answered questions about ourselves with our new friends, visited the local church and found out how the school celebrate Christmas whilst making Christmas bunting. The school was so small that we had to eat lunch in the village hall! We are really looking forward to their visit to Arboretum in the new year.
REMINDER - PUPIL UPDATE FORMS
Please check these and return them to school as soon as possible, even if there are no changes required. Thank you
Remember - Assertive Mentoring meetings next week. Have you got your appointment?
Some of our boys have been taking part in an indoor 5-a-side football league, playing against teams from other Derby schools. Ashton from year 4 scored his 1st goal in the 2-2 draw with Cherry Tree B. This is a huge achievement considering he is playing against children almost 2 years older than him. He was named player of the week after starting all 3 games this week.
Have a look at the Latest News section of the school website for more details of their results.
Christmas Post Box
We will have a Christmas Post Box for any children who would like to send cards to their friends or teachers. Please write their name and class clearly on the outside of the envelope, and remember to sign your name inside. Then pop them in the post box outside Hall 1 for Year 6 to deliver.
Storytime with Mr Scott
The nursery children enjoy story time with Mr Scott on Friday afternoons. They found last week's story 'You Can't Take an Elephant on the Bus' very funny!
REQUESTS FROM THE OFFICE
Please make sure that any money sent into school (eg for dinner money or trips) is put in an envelope with your child’s name, class, the amount enclosed and what it is for written clearly on the front.
Please check your child’s book bag regularly for important letters, or even dinner money that they have forgotten to hand in!
Please remember to check your child’s hair regularly for head lice. This should be done at least once a week, by combing with a fine tooth comb.
Stopping on Zig-zag lines
Yellow zig-zag lines are placed outside schools for the safety of the children. You MUST NOT park or even wait on these lines.
