WELCOME TO ARBORETUM

This week we were delighted to welcome our new member of staff, Miss Johnson. She joins us as Learning Mentor - Behaviour and Attendance. In this role, she will be helping our children to get the most out of school by making sure that they attend regularly and helping them to learn to make the best choices regarding their behaviour.

Welcome to Arboretum, Miss Johnson!

French Lunch

Year 5 and 6 are learning all about France this term. As part of this they will be visiting Bistrot Pierre’s restaurant for lunch, to learn more about French food and culture.

Class 17 - 28th February, Class 15 - 1st March, Class 16 - 2nd March, Class 14 - 3rd March

GETTING PARENTS INVOLVED

We love to invite our parents into school to get more involved in their child’s learning, and the children love to show their parents their achievements. Whether it is for drop-in sessions to find out what the children are learning; assertive mentoring meetings; tea and toast; plays and productions; or craft afternoons, it is very valuable when parents come into school. To recognise this, we give out tickets each time a parent comes to an event. Then each term we pick out one ticket per phase to win a prize. The prizes for Autumn term were games for children to play with their families. The winners were Mohammad Saleh from FS, Sarim Mushtaq from KS1, Anoosha Khan from Year 3/4 and Maksims Samsonovs from Year 5/6. They will all receive their prizes in Wow assembly next week.

HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES WITH MR MALOOQ & MR PEMBERTON

The Arboretum play scheme will be taking place on Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th February 2017 10am – 3pm. Children will be able to participate in playing lots of different sports like football, cricket, tag rugby and basketball to just name a few. We will also be going green by doing some gardening activities. The cost of the activities is just £5 per day for your children; please do not miss out on this opportunity!!! Children will require a healthy packed lunch and plenty of drinks/water for the day. Please also make sure your child is wearing appropriate clothes for both indoor and outdoor activities. If you would like to book your child on one or more of the days please collect a form from outside the office, and return the completed slip return to Mr Malooq with payment by Friday 10th February 2017.

School Field

Please do not walk across the school field when collecting your children. It is very muddy at this time of year, and can get very slippery.

Thank you
