SNOW!

Last week saw the worst snowfall that Derby has seen for a number of years.

Although it was fun for the children, it did cause us some problems in school, as we had to decide whether to open. We had to balance our duty to provide education for the children with the need to ensure that all our children and staff would be safe. Our site staff arrived early and worked hard to ensure that everyone could get into the school site safely, and most of our staff were able to get to school. However, the conditions quickly deteriorated, and so the decision was taken to close the school to ensure that all of the children and staff would be able to get home safely.

We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience that was caused, but in any situation like this we will always monitor the situation and take the decisions we feel necessary for the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff.
