WORLD BOOK DAY

Last Friday, we celebrated World Book Day in School. Children and Teachers dressed up as their favourite characters from books, and a winner was chosen from each year group. Well done to: Khadijah (FS1), Madiha (FS2), Raheesa (Yr 1), JJ (Yr 2), Sinan (Yr 3), Alekss (Yr 4), Junior (Yr 5) and Lucie (Yr6). Children were also given the opportunity to chill with a book, and recreated the front covers of their favourite books for postcards! Thank you to everyone who took part.

SUNNY WEATHER

Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, please remember to make sure your child is prepared. They need to bring a water bottle and sun hat to school, and should have sunscreen applied before they come to school.

PLAYGROUND MURALS

Many of you will have noticed the new murals in our playground. We have had two students from Derby University, Grace and Krishna, doing voluntary work with us this week, and so they have been helping Mr Daintith to decorate the wall and fence in the playground. We think they look brilliant! Thank you Grace and Krishna.

Important Reminder:

YEAR 6 SATS take place from 14th - 17th May. Please make sure that your child is practising their Maths and Reading at home. It is also important that they get enough sleep - Year 6 children should be in bed by 9pm. Thank you.

Getting Parents Involved

It is very valuable when parents come into school. To recognise this, we give out tickets each time a parent comes to an event. Then each term we pick out one ticket per phase to win a prize. The prizes for Spring term were craft activities for children to play with their families. The winners were:

FS - Mujtaba

Yr 1/2 - Liana

Yr 3/4 - Ibraheem

Yr 5/6 - Chloe
