Reach for the Stars

Thank you to parents for working with their children on some exciting homework tasks over the holiday which have been shared with the school in WOW assemblies this week.

 

Year 5/6 Drop-ins

Year 5/6 will be holding Drop-in sessions for parents on Tuesday 27th September at 11.20am .  Please come along to find out about what your child will be learning, and how you can support them.

 

Year 4 Swimming

All Year 4 children will go swimming on Tuesdays.  Please make sure your child brings their swimming costume, towel and swimming hat every Tuesday.

Note: Year 4 children cannot have home dinners on a Tuesday, they must stay for school dinners or packed lunch.

 

MacMillan Fundraising

Next week Miss Burdis and Mrs Gill are organising a number of fundraising activities in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Monday - Friday  Win a wonderful cake baked by Miss Burdis! Tickets 20p each from your class teacher

Monday - Friday   MacMillan games in class 20p per go

Friday 30th September - Special Tea & Toast. Hall 1   8.45-8.55am. All parents welcome.  Donations to MacMillan

Friday 30th September Cake / biscuit sale at break and after school (20p or 50p per cake)

 

Swimming Kit

If you have any spare swimming kit that you can donate to school, we would be very grateful.  Please  bring it to the office.

 

PARENTS’ MEETINGS

We will be holding our parents’ meetings on 5th & 6th October (4th & 5th for Class 17).  Please make sure you return your letter by Tuesday 27th September to book your appointment.  Reception teachers will speak to parents directly to arrange their meetings

 

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

Well done to everyone who entered our “Story in a Box” reading challenge.  We had over 60 children who completed the challenge from both KS1 and KS2. - you are all stars!

PACKED LUNCH BOXES

Please make sure that you take you child’s packed lunch box and water bottle home every night to wash.  Dirty, sticky packed lunch boxes attract ants.  Every other Friday the lunch trolleys will be emptied and anything left in them will be thrown away to avoid problems with pests.

 

Name labels

Please make sure that all your child’s uniform, PE kit, glasses and anything else that they bring to school has their name on it.  Then we can help to get it back to them if they lose it.
