YEAR 3 AND YEAR 4 Monday 13th July 2020
Hello Year 3 and 4 parents, carers and children,
This is the last newsletter that we will write as the summer holidays begin on Friday July 24th. The last teaching day is Wednesday 22nd July for children in school. Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July will be INSET days. Teachers will be in getting the classrooms ready for children to return in September.
But, just because the summer holidays are nearly here, doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. There are some summer challenges that you can complete. You will need to pick up paper copies of the maths, reading and writing challenges from school reception before we close.
For the art summer challenge/competition:
These are the instructions:
Can you draw a picture or make a model to show: What I appreciate more in our world and how I would make the world a better place.
Models and pictures can include colour and use any materials you wish to use e.g.: felt tips, paint, collage etc.
Remember to keep anything you make and bring it into school when you come back in September. Your new teacher will love to see what you’ve been up to.
For the reading summer challenge:
For some extra reading challenges this summer, have a look at The Reading Agency’s “Summer Reading Challenge” https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
All of the Lower Key Stage 2 team would like to wish you a wonderful summer. If you are currently year 3 you will move into year 4 in September and continue with the same team. If you are in year 4 now, you will move up to year 5 and become part of the year 5 and 6 team. Look out for letters from your new teachers.

Until September, have a wonderful holiday. Kind regards The Year 3 and 4 Team.
