Dear Early Years families,
It has been another busy week in school. We welcomed back more children in reception and nursery as well as some year one and two children. There has been some wonderful learning happening all across school. Miss Noon and her bubble have been reading Jack’s Beanstalk Stinks and they have grown their own beans! Let’s hope no one steals their beans! You could grow some beans at home.
There have been more birthday’s in our team this week. Miss Greene and Miss Stanton enjoyed celebrating with their families. Wow! Doesn’t Miss Greene’s cake look delicious! Happy birthday ladies.
Miss Jenny went for a walk with her family to Elvaston Castle. Here she is with her grandson Dylan. Have you been on any nice walks? Maybe you could take a trip to a park or go on a bike ride somewhere.
It was Father’s Day last week. Did you do anything nice to celebrate with your daddy? Ayyan from Class 1 made a Father’s Day certificate for his daddy. Here he is giving it to his dad. What a lovely gift Ayyan.
I wanted to send you all a message to say I am thinking about you and missing you very much! I hope you and your families are staying safe and enjoying spending time together. I know you will be making me proud by being such superstars whether you are in school or at home. My little girl Orla is 3 months old now! She’s getting very good at splashing in the bath and blowing raspberries. Sending you all lots of love.

Have a look at these fun activities and try out a few of them at home.
Please refer to the pictures in the photo slide above.
What fun challenges try at home?
Here you can find lots of fun things to make using objects you find around your house, food recipes and different games you can play with your family.
Make a yummy scrummy picnic.
Miss Noon has enjoyed having picnics in the park. What would you have in your picnic? Can you help a grown-up make some food and enjoy a picnic with your family? You could take your picnic to the local park and eat outside.
How many mini beasts can you find?!
Miss Brown and Charley went on a mini beast hunt this week. They found lots of creatures. Look at this snail they found. Can you find a butterfly like this one? What other bugs are in your garden?
Have some fun with messy play!
Huzaifa loves reading ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy. In the story teddy goes to the moon. Mrs Ahmed made a space role play for him. He practised his counting, read the story to his teddy and got messy with space jelly. Why don’t you create a scene from your favourite story? Would you like to make Mrs Ahmed’s space jelly? Add black food colouring and glitter to a bowl of jelly and mix it all together. Then have fun getting messy!
Yummy Banana Bread Recipe!
We love baking at Arboretum! Mrs Humphrey and her children have been baking lots of delicious cakes and treats in lock down. Here is Sophie hard at work mixing all the ingredients together for her banana bread. Use the recipe below to make your own.
We love to see what you have been up to at home. Lots of children have emailed me their learning. You can send it to my email - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a wonderful week Early Years superstars!
