Children’s attendance at school is vitally important to allow them to succeed and achieve their full potential.  To support this, we are looking to appoint an experienced Attendance Officer to monitor attendance within the school, then work with parents and other staff to ensure all children achieve excellent levels of attendance.  The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children and families, with a professional manner that will enable them to build good relationships with parents, staff and outside agencies.  We are looking for an individual with experience of managing attendance within a school, who is organised and effective at managing their workload, with excellent IT skills.

Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.

We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds.  We pride ourselves on our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams.  We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate.

We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role.  Due to the current circumstances, we will be offering visits during the Easter holidays between Wednesday 7th and Friday 9th April. To register your interest, please call the school office on (01332) 291140 by Thursday 1st April or email .
