We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Bilingual Administration Assistant to join our friendly admin team and help to support families from our Eastern European communities. The ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written Slovakian and Czech is essential as well as excellent English language skills; some ability to converse in Roma and/or other Eastern European languages is also desirable. The role will consist of a mixture of administration tasks, reception duties plus acting as an interpreter to support our families. We are looking for an individual with administration experience, ideally within a school, who is organised and effective at managing their workload, with excellent IT skills.
Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.
We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves on our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate. Online searches are carried out on all shortlisted candidates and/or conditionally appointed candidates for positions within Derby Diocesan Academy Trust.
We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role. To arrange a visit, please call on 01332 291140 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . Please also take a few minutes to watch our school video on our Welcome page of our website www.arboretum.derby.sch.uk to get a true flavour of Arboretum Primary School.
