Full-time Permanent SEN Teacher
Interview: Thursday 15th July 2021
We are looking to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic Teacher with drive and energy to join our happy, lively, forward looking and successful school. In return, we can offer you high quality professional development and the opportunity to be part of a team of teachers who regularly share best practice and learn from each other.
The successful candidate will have experience in, and a passion for, working with children with Special Educational Needs. They will work with our Orchard Group, a small group of mixed age children with SEN, supported by a dedicated team of support staff. They will be based in the Apples group, 8 children with a range of needs, from Reception to Year 4- so a good knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and teaching strategies would be desirable. A working knowledge of the pre key stage assessment framework and the engagement model would also be desirable. They will have the ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of the individual children in the group, within an inspiring and inclusive learning environment.
Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our recent Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.
We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves on our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is embedded across everything we do at Arboretum, including all stages of our recruitment and selection process. The successful candidate will require enhanced DBS clearance.
We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role. To register your interest, please call the school office on (01332) 291140 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
