March 2015 Newsletter

24th March  2015

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are coming to the end of another busy term.  I hope you enjoyed the Year 3/4 production as much as I did!  Our non-uniform day this half term raised £112.05 which helps to fund costumes for our productions.  The Mother's Day presents we sold raised £134.20.  The winners of the Easter Egg raffle will be announced on Friday.  Many thanks to Miss Ford for all her hard work in co-ordinating the fundraising activities.

Also a big thank you to Ms Allen for being so brave and having her hair shaved and for coordinating the Comic Relief events and raising:

  • Dressing up £153.26
  • Bucket on the day £291.25
  • Staff at work £114
  • Just Giving Page £397
  • Friends and family £340.77
  • Total from hair shaving a staggering £1143.02!!!
  • Total amount for Comic Relief £1296.28

Please make sure that your child wears appropriate footwear for school – sensible black shoes for boys and girls. If children arrive in unsuitable footwear, we will loan them a pair of black pumps to change into for the day.

If your child has been lucky and been invited to Easter school this year, please support them by bringing them in each day at 8.30am.   We have found that those children who attend Easter School approach their SATS exams a few weeks later much more confidently. Teachers are giving up their school holiday to help your child achieve more.  There is no cost for this tuition this year.

On Friday we say goodbye to Miss Wilson and Miss Milner who are both moving to promoted positions in schools in different areas.  We will miss them but wish them every success in their new schools.

I hope to see you at Tea and Toast tomorrow morning.

I wish all our families a peaceful Easter break. We return to school on Monday April 13th.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Ann Cruickshank,
