Welcome to the start of the new term at Arboretum, I hope you have enjoyed the summer break.  I am really excited about my job here as the new Head Teacher of Arboretum.  The children and staff at the school are fantastic and I am really looking

forward to working with all of you this year.

“Eid Mubarak” all our families and staff who will be celebrating this special day on Monday 12th September.

We invite all parents to join us for an Eid party on Friday 16th

September at 2.45pm.  Children may bring party clothes to change into, but please do not send food.

Nursery parties will be at 11.00am and 2.45pm.  Children may come to Nursery dressed in their party clothes.



Please note that we have INSET days on Tuesday 13th September and Monday 19th September.  School will be CLOSED to all children on these days.



The children all look very smart in their new uniform.  Please make sure that it all has their name inside so that it doesn’t get lost.  Sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts can all be bought from the school office.  Remember that all children must have suitable, black shoes.  Trainers must not be worn.



This year, lunch time has changed to

12.10 - 1.10 pm

If your child goes home to lunch, please make sure they are back at school at 1.05pm so they do not miss out on their learning time.



All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can have a free school dinner everyday.

For all other children the cost is £1.80 per day, £9.00 per week.  Please send your child’s dinner money to school every Monday.  If you think you may be entitled to claim Free School Meals, please come to the Office for a form.

Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day, and that it is all named.

They need:

White T-shirt

Black shorts / Jogging bottoms

Trainers for outside

Black pumps for indoors

Jacket or sweatshirt for winter

Named bag to keep it in


Water Bottles and Packed Lunch Boxes

Please make sure that you take your child’s water bottle and packed lunch box home every night to wash it out.



Remember that we are a nut free school.  To keep everyone safe, please check the packaging of any food you send into school.  If it contains nuts, or says “May contain nuts” then it must not be brought into school.
