WELCOME TO ARBORETUM!
We would like to give a big Arboretum welcome to all the children who are starting at Arboretum for the first time. We hope they settle in quickly and have an amazing time at Arboretum. We also say “welcome back” to all our children who are returning to Arboretum this year, and hope you are looking forward to continuing your learning journey with us.
We say goodbye to Mr Scott, who has left Arboretum, and wish him all the best for the future. The Governors have approved Mr Daintith as Acting Head Teacher and Miss Hardy as Acting Deputy Head, until the process of appointing a new head can be completed.
Our school is:
S a safe, supportive stimulating learning environment
T a team of respectful, tolerant, open minded citizens
A a community where everyone aspires to be the very best they can be
R a community of resilient lifelong learners
S a centre of excellence where all achieve success
PARENT PICNIC
After our summer picnic, we had lots of requests for another one!
Please join us on Wednesday 18th September on the field from 12:10pm.
Children who stay for school dinners will be provided with a buffet lunch on that day, which they will be able to bring onto the field to eat with their parents.
We look forward to seeing you then!
HARVEST CELEBRATION
We will be holding our annual harvest celebration for children during assembly on Friday 20th September, and would like to collect items for a local charity. Please send any tins, packets or jars of food into school on that day.
Thank you
ARBORETUM IS A MOBILE-FREE SCHOOL
Mobile phones must not be used inside school, or anywhere on the playground.
WATERSTONES
To encourage a love of books and reading, we will be taking all the children to Waterstones Bookshop to choose a book to take home. These visits will take place between 23rd September and 11th October. Look out for a letter giving more details of your child’s trip.
Tea and Toast
Our next Tea & Toast will be on Wednesday 25th September. Please join us in Hall 1 from
8:45—8:55am
Congratulations
and best wishes!
We say “congratulations” to Miss Allen and Miss Johnson, who got married during the holidays. Miss Allen is now Mrs Cross and Miss Johnson is now Mrs Icke.
We also send our best wishes to Mrs Darling, who will be starting her maternity leave at the end of September.
