                                                                                                                        Autumn half term

Hello Year 1/2 parents, carers and children,

Just a quick newsletter to tell you about what we’re getting up to in school this Autumn term.

We are doing history this term. Teaching
children about the past is quite tricky as I
remember one child telling me that was the 1980’s!
Children will be learning about famous pirates and
taking part in pirate workshops, hoping to qualify as
a pirate! Ask your child about Blackbeard and
Anne Bonny.

Story time with your teachers
Your teachers have recorded themselves reading stories. Why not cuddle up on the sofa and listen to Mrs Roberts read ‘The Pirates are coming’, Mrs Ferguson reading ‘We’re all wonders’ and Mrs Iqbal reading ‘The tiger who came to tea’? We had a great time at our recent ‘Reading Festival’ celebrating how much we love reading.
Visit the school website to see the stories.

Important reading is.

Virtual fun
As you know at the moment, we don’t have any trips to look forward to, so we have to be a bit more creative! Mrs Roberts organised a virtual assembly with Severn Trent, which will be on wonderful water. We were the second school to take part. It was on 6th October so ask your children what they enjoyed about the assembly.

TT Rockstars
Times table practice is important. You should have received your TT Rockstars password to allow you to practise your times tables. If you are year 1, try your x2, x5, x10. If you’re year 2, add x3 tables too.
