VISIT TO A CARE HOME
Last Friday Class 4 went to visit Douglas Court care home. The children met so many interesting people staying there. The children shared their topic learning with the residents and read their story books as well. They even performed their winter musical songs which went down a treat! Lots of the residents were clapping and singing along. The children were asking so many questions and finding out so much. When they got back to school they couldn’t stop sharing stories with each other and the children in Class 4 said they felt really kind because they made the residents smile. A member of staff at the care home said it was wonderful to have the children visit, and told us that some of the people staying in the care home can’t understand the language anymore but they were still bursting with happiness! Class 4 all agreed that it feels so good to make others smile.
We are so proud of all of the children in EYFS for putting on such a wonderful production of the Nativity story. Thank you to all of the parents who came to watch the show, supported children in learning their lines and helped out with costumes!
BIG ISSUE COMPETITION
Year 5/6 entered The Big Issue 'Kid's Cover Competition' to design the front cover for their Christmas Edition and we are delighted to say that we won the prize for the group entry. Our entries were described as 'voluminous and joyful'. Our prize was a box of over 70 books. The exciting news was announced to the children in Wednesday's Wow Assembly.
