The Lion King
Year 3 and 4 worked very hard to put on a performance of The Lion King. Mrs Woolnough was lucky enough to watch the performance twice. Afterwards she said “I was absolutely blown away by what the children managed to achieve in such a short space of time. The acting, singing, dancing, make up and costumes were fantastic. The children were a huge credit to themselves, their teachers and their parents. I was laughing one minute, and crying the next! Well done everybody.”
Miss Allen was very proud of the children and said “I would just like to thank the Year3 / 4 team for all their hard work in the preparations and rehearsals and a big thank you to all the children, they are wonderful!”
FIRE FIGHTERS’ VISIT
Key stage 1 had a visit from local firefighters on Friday March 29th. Children got to explore the fire engine, use the fire hose, learn about how to become a fire fighter and how to stay safe at home.
Part of the job of the firefighters is helping with fire prevention.
If you would like a free smoke alarm and fire safety advice for your home, please contact 01332 777850 and ask for a ‘Safe and Well Check’ and they will book you an appointment.
Big Battery Hunt
Batteries can be very damaging to the environment if they are not recycled properly, so we have decided to take part in the Big Battery Hunt. Your child should have brought home a cardboard collecting box. Please use this to collect any old batteries that you have, and return it to school to empty when it is full. These will then be collected for recycling at the end of May. We will also be entered into a competition to win some great prizes for the school.
Please help us to help save the environment!
NURSERY ADMISSIONS
We are now starting to allocate places for our 3 year old nursery for September. We are working down the waiting list inviting parents for admission interviews, so if your child is on the waiting list you should receive a phone call or letter in the next couple of weeks. If you know of any children who would like a place in our Nursery who are not already on the waiting list, come into the office with their birth certificate - please avoid the busy times of 8:45 to 9:15am and 3:00 - 3:30pm.
