Key Stage 1 Go to the Park

This term the topic for KS1 was ‘Parks and Plants’. To support the children’s learning and to provide them with an enriched experience the children enjoyed an amazing trip to Elvaston Castle. The children were able to see all of the different elements of parks and plants that they have been learning about. The children had fun taking part in lots of different activities such as exploring the maze, creating natural art, playing games, visiting the horses, feeding the ducks and of course testing out the playground equipment. We'd like to say a big thank you to all of the parents that supported us on the trip, your help is much appreciated.

Mr Malooq and Mr Pemberton will be running Easter holiday activities in during the second week of the holidays, from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st April. The activities will run from 10am -3pm. Children will be able to participate in lots of different sports and games, as well art and craft activities.

Forms will be available from Monday to make bookings. You can get one from Mr Malooq or outside the office. The cost is £5 per child per day (free for pupil premium children).

Thank you to everyone who wore red and contributed to our Red Nose Day collection last Friday. We raised £133.39.

Mr Scott had a special Red Nose Day themed Golden Table with Hunain Arshad, Kristian Slepcik, Lyba Rashad, Amaan Khalid, Aleeza Ali and Aisha Nazakat.

Our catering apprentice, Dominika, decorated all the red nose biscuits for lunch time single-handedly!

Assertive Mentoring Meetings

These important meetings will be taking place next week:

Tuesday 4th - Classes 4-8, 14-17

Wednesday 5th - All classes

Thursday 6th - Classes 1-3, 9-13

Please make sure you come along to your appointment as it plays an important part in your child’s learning; speak to your child’s teacher if you need to check when it is.

All the meetings will be in Hall 1, so please come through the front gate and go straight to the Hall doors.

Easter School

Staff will be running Easter School sessions for children from Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 during the holidays. This is a great opportunity for children to get extra help with their learning. Please make sure you return your child’s permission slip so we know they are coming.

Head Lice

Head lice are a normal part of childhood. Although anyone can get head lice, they are particularly common amongst primary school children, who spend more time in close contact with their friends.

So it is important to check your child’s hair regularly, at least once a week, by combing with a special fine tooth comb, and keep it tied back if it is long.

If you find any head lice, please treat them immediately and tell your child’s teacher. A pharmacy can advise you on the best way to treat head lice, and also sell the special detection combs.

There are lots of nice coats in the lost property area, in the glass corridor next to Class 11. Please check that your child has brought their coat home with them.

so that we can give them back to the right child if they are found.

Both football clubs are CANCELLED next Friday. Please collect your children from school at 3.15pm.
