Travelling back in time to Warwick Castle
Our topic this term is ‘Knights and castles’, so on Thursday 27th September, year 1 and 2 stepped back in time when they visited Warwick castle. We watched an archer fire arrows from his bow, the mighty trebuchet fire a huge rock, watched a bird of prey show, explored the castle and nearly got lost in the ‘Horrible History’ maze. We even saw the armour that knights used to wear and the weapons they used to fight with. Some of us climbed to the top of the castle too! Amazing! We enjoyed a fantastic and very sunny day and learnt lots more about life in a historic castle. On Monday, we will write about our trip so please make sure you talk to your child about their favourite part.
Roald Dahl Winner
Well done to Vanesa from Class 18 who won a Roald Dahl drawing competition against children from other schools. She won a special 15 book collection of Roald Dahl classics.
The judges commented on her design : ‘A playful, colourful and creative drawing of The Twits. The drawing pretty much sums them up’
