YEAR 3 & 4  AT ALTER ROCK

Year 3 and 4 have been visiting Alter Rock as part of our geography learning. Our focus country is Chile and the children have been finding out all about the mountains in Chile and comparing them to those in the UK. The children had a great time learning new skills and finding out what it might be like to climb a mountain.

A new App and website has been launched which aims to cover everything you need to know about school life.

ARBO’S RECOMMENDED READS

Nursery recommend ‘The Great Snortle Hunt’ by Claire Freedman. We had great fun imagining what the Snortle might look like and looking for clues that he’d left behind for us!

Two Year Old Nursery recommend ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. We love this story because, “The snail was sad, then the whale came and they were best friends.” Faiza

Abdul-Ahad from Class 15 recommends , Diary of a Wimpy Kid -  The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney.

‘I would recommended this book because it is funny and there are two brothers who were in a car and pretend that they are being kidnapped!’

 ATTENDANCE

It is very important for the children’s learning that they attend school regularly.  We monitor attendance, and give out rewards each term for children who have had 100% attendance.  We also reward classes for excellent attendance - Class 18 had the best attendance last term, so had a free trip to Oxygen trampoline park.  They had a great time!
