Dear Parents and Carers,

 As we come to the end of another very busy academic year I wanted to share some key events and information with you all. Just like last year we have seen our lives and school affected by Coronavirus – we have done our very best to keep everyone safe in school and still continue to provide a high quality education for all. Thank you to all our families for the very important part you have all played in this – you have been so supportive and encouraging and together we have supported all the children with their continued development – it is what makes Arboretum such a special school and the community such a wonderful and rewarding place to work in. I imagine you share my wishes for the time when life gets back to ‘normal’ and we can see you in school again. In the meantime thank you so much for all your understanding and support.

You will all receive letters tomorrow with information about the new classes for September and the curriculum and key events for the Autumn term. We have not been able to do our planned transition days due to the extended COVID regulations but will do as much as we can to prepare all the children for their new teacher and class in September.

On Friday 9^th July you will be given the annual school report for your child and then the following week the teachers will make arrangements to have a phone call with you to discuss your child and their report.

The children break up for the Summer holidays on Wednesday 21^st July and will return to school on Monday 6^th September.

We will be running 3 weeks of holiday clubs this summer and Mr Malooq will distribute details of these soon and how to book on them.

When we return in September we are going to continue with the successful arrangements we have established this year – children can come to school in their sports kit on the days they have PE/Games. We will continue with staggered lunches in two halls for the different phases across school and as a result we would like all children to stay in school for a school lunch or their own packed lunch.

We will continue to follow the Government COVID guidelines and inform you of any changes as we know them. We will continue to use Class DOJO to communicate key messages and for teachers to allocate any homework and summer challenges.

On the back of this letter and also on our school website are all the key holiday dates for next year and our 5 planned INSET days.
