A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our fundraising for MacMillan Cancer Support. Through our special Tea and Toast and the amazing raffle we raised £340 for this important charity. Well done to Miss Burdis and Miss Hardy who arranged it all.
Last Friday, 29th September, two astronomers (Jake and Rachel) came into school for the afternoon to spend time with our Key Stage 1 children who are learning all about space. Children had been finding out about the solar system during lessons and both astronomers were really impressed with what the children already knew! Jake and Rachel talked to the children about telescopes, stars and galaxies. Children then had a chance to ask their own questions. There were some awesome questions such as: ‘What are stars made from?’ and ‘Why are there stars?’. This visit really helped to get the children ready for their visit to the National Space centre on Friday 6th October!

Our Two Year Old Nursery still has some spaces available for children who are eligible for the childcare funding, which is available for families who are entitled to certain benefits. Ask at the office for more information, or check the Derby City council website:
Please keep bringing in your clean, empty 2 litre plastic bottles. We still need lots more to build our Eco Greenhouse.
In the middle of our very busy Tea and Toast morning, we also had a visit from Environmental Health to carry out our annual, unannounced food hygiene checks. The inspector was very impressed that even when they were so busy, Nora and her team met all the requirements, so we have kept our 5 Star rating for another year.
Well done to Nora and her team!
