Pears is a facility aimed at supporting students who require communication, emotional and behavioral support to access a mainstream curriculum. We have tailored the National Curriculum to meet the specific needs of our children and to provide them with a range of life skills to become independent individuals. All children with Pears have full access to literacy/phonics and Maths each morning. The Maths curriculum is taken from the White Rose scheme of work. Their afternoon curriculum includes foundation subjects, physical development, PSHE and science. Pears embed the learning themes through key interventions such as Attention Autism, Active Hands and Zones of Regulation. Learning is reviewed and adapted continuously in line with the children’s current interests and targets. Children have access to outdoor provision, sensory resources and a range of interventions such as Attention Autism, Forest Schools, Active Hands, Lego Therapy, Zones of Regulation and speech and language interventions. Pear Children also have the opportunity to go swimming weekly for a term each year.
