We are looking to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic Teacher with drive and energy to join our happy, lively, forward looking and successful school.  In return, we can offer you high quality professional development and the opportunity to be part of a team of teachers who regularly share best practice and learn from each other.

The successful candidate will have experience in, and a passion for, working with children with Special Educational Needs.  They will work with our Orchard Group, a small group of mixed age children with SEN, supported by a dedicated team of support staff.  They will have the ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of the individual children in the group, within an inspiring and inclusive learning environment.

Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our recent Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.

We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds.  We pride ourselves on our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams.  We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is embedded across everything we do at Arboretum, including all stages of our recruitment and selection process.  The successful candidate will require enhanced DBS clearance.

An informal visit to the school is warmly encouraged and welcomed.  Please call the school Office on (01332) 291140 to find out more information.

Please complete both the DDAT Teacher application form and the Monitoring form, and submit together with a covering letter.

Applications should be emailed to or posted to the school address.  Please note that the correct forms must be completed, and CVs or other methods of application will not be accepted.
