Is your passion supporting primary age children with varied ability levels? Are you looking for an exciting new role within a large, popular and thriving Inner City school? If so, and you can demonstrate that you are passionate about maximising our children’s learning potential, then this role could be for you.

We have a large, friendly and incredibly dedicated team of teaching assistants, supporting teaching staff and pupils across our School.  We require 2 qualified and experienced teaching assistants to join this team to provide cover for colleagues on maternity leave. The successful candidates will ideally have recent experience within Foundation, KS1and KS2 phases with a strong working knowledge of phase curriculums.

You will be assisting with supervision of the pupils in the classroom, in groups and 1:1 when required. There may also be an opportunity for the right person to undertake HLTA duties, covering for teacher’s PPA and management time.  We are a Read Write Inc Model School and so there may be opportunities for a suitable candidate to undertake RWInc training.

Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.

We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds.  We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams.  We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.  Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process.  An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate.

We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role.  Due to the current circumstances, we will be offering visits after school on selected dates. To register your interest, please call the school office on (01332) 291140 or email .
