Teaching Assistant (Level 2) – Maternity Cover
Is your passion supporting young children with varied ability levels? Are you looking for an exciting new role within a large, popular and thriving Inner City school? If so, and you can demonstrate that you are passionate about maximising our children’s learning potential, then this role could be for you.
This is an exciting role for the right person to join our friendly and incredibly dedicated Early Years team to provide cover for a maternity leave. We require a qualified and experienced teaching assistant who ideally has recent experience within Foundation stage, with a strong working knowledge of the Early Years curriculum.
You will be working in our popular and highly regarded Nursery provision, supporting the children’s learning inside and outside the classroom. There may also be an opportunity for the right person to undertake HLTA duties, covering for the teacher’s PPA and management time.
Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.
We are a large 635 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups. Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate. Online searches are carried out on all shortlisted candidates and/or conditionally appointed candidates for positions within Derby Diocesan Academy Trust.
We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit the school to find out more about us and the role. We will be offering an opportunity to have a tour with the head teacher on Thursday 17th November at 4pm. To register your interest, please call the school office on (01332) 291140 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . Please also take a few minutes to watch our school video on our Welcome page of our website www.arboretum.derby.sch.uk to get a true flavour of Arboretum Primary School.
