Temporary Qualified Childcare Worker (Part Time)
Do you have a passion for working with small children, helping them to learn and develop skills that they will need to maximise their potential as they enter their school life. Are you looking for an exciting new role within a large, popular and thriving Inner City school-based nursery? If so this role could be for you.
We are looking for a part-time, qualified childcare worker to join our friendly and incredibly dedicated foundation stage team. You will be based in our two year old unit, working with children who are generally entering their first experience of formal childcare, with many having English as a second language. The post is for two full days per week, working Thursday and Friday.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and how children learn. You will have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent relevant qualification) along with excellent literacy and numeracy skills. You will be able to demonstrate that you are a hard working and enthusiastic team player, with a positive approach and real enthusiasm for working with young children.
We are a large 635 place primary school (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 78 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has recently been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
Arboretum is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”. Our school is very well resourced and we see the benefits of regular training and development of staff, ensuring they really do make a genuine difference to our children’s education.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate.
