YEAR 3 AND YEAR 4 Monday 1st June 2020
Hello LKS2 parents and carers,
Week 9 newsletter - time really is flying by. We, as always, hope that you are all safe and well and were able to enjoy your time at home during half term. If you celebrated Eid then we hope that you managed to do so in the best and safest way possible with your families.
Key stage 2 team update
The teachers have been busy during half term and we all enjoyed the fabulous weather.
Mr Cross and I have been working on our allotments. They are in a fenced off area where only people who have allotments can go. We have two, one to grow our vegetables and another one which has lots of fruit trees on it. Because the weather has been so hot, we have to go every day to water the plants. We are lucky though, as we have a well, where we pump water out using a petrol pump, that way we can water all the plants using a hose pipe.
Mrs Baker has been on lots of walks over the fields where she saw a swan with her six baby cygnets, she has been doing lots of gardening and had a Zoom party for her friend’s birthday.
Mrs Ridgard has had a very relaxing week not doing a lot. She had a Zoom chat with an old school friend she hadn’t seen for years, completed a quiz and has been crocheting.
Mrs Bexon has been spending lots of time in the garden with the paddling pool, she walked with the family to Elvaston Castle where they had an ice-cream. She also took part in a family quiz and played bingo with friends on Saturday.
Miss Paget has been doing lots of D.I.Y. at home, she has been painting and enjoyed sitting in her garden. She also read a book and has been trying different routes on her daily walks.
Miss Allen has been landscaping her front garden and met her best friend’s new-born baby from a distance.
Miss Ford has had a busy week gardening, sorting out her garage, met a friend she hadn’t seen for weeks and has taken the dog on long walks and has enjoyed reading in the garden.
Mrs Credland has been reading, gardening and learning how to sew.
Miss Worrall has been on bike rides and walks with her family and enjoyed ice-creams. She also had a Zoom quiz with her friends.
Mrs Dundon-Innis has been on lots of walks to Darley Park, Markeaton Park and Allestree Park and baby Paul can now roll over!
Mrs Iqbal has been spending lots of time in the garden with her girls.
Keep looking after yourselves and please contact us if you need anything. We do all miss seeing you and can’t wait until we can be back in school.
