    Helen Phillips Head Teacher
    Mrs Helen Phillips
    Headteacher

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Arboretum Primary School.

Arboretum is a happy place to be.  Our school is full of laughter, care and love; we think of ourselves as a family where everyone is valued and respected for the unique individual that they are. Our children tell us they ‘love their school’, ‘know they are valued’ and that their teachers ‘really care for them’.  They can and will list many positives about learning here!

At Arboretum we underpin all of our work with the school’s values of ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’.

We aim to provide a safe, happy and healthy environment in which all children belong and thrive. We want our children to be successful, to love learning and to flourish, whatever their background or individual needs.   We have high expectations of our children in all areas of their learning; we will expect and support them to ‘Reach for the Stars’ in all they do.

We encourage our children to be confident, tenacious and ambitious and to move onto the next stage of their education with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to achieve their full potential and future ambitions.

At Arboretum we recognise you as the primary educator of your child, and we look forward to working with you in order to make your child’s time with us as successful as possible.  As a result, we work hard to develop our relationships.  We love learning together and provide lots of opportunities for parents and carers to join us.

We are a proud member of the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) family of schools.

We welcome visits to the school and feel that this is a very important way for you to find out more about us and what we do.
