Update

Unfortunately we are in Lock down again.

Please collect work packs on a Friday from outside the classrooms for classes 12 and 13. By the glazed corridor for classes 10 and 11. By the lunch trolley for class 9.

Make sure you download the Class Dojo app, this is where your child's teacher can set challenges, help with any problems, read stories and engage with you.

Thank you. We really hope we can get back to normal soon.

Welcome to the New Year and a new term. Let's hope we will have a good year and everyone is safe.

The topic for this term is geography and we will be exploring 3 different countries and 3 different cities. Great Britain and Derbyshire /Derby, France and Paris and Brazil and Rio Janeiro.

In science we are studying Forces and magnets. What are forces? How things move on different surfaces? We will discover how magnets work by observing them attract and repelling each other and attracting different materials.

September 2020

Dear Parents, Carers and Year 3 and 4 children,

A Very Warm Welcome to you all

Our return to school is going to be a little different to normal. So we thought we would write a letter to explain the changes/

School uniform
School uniform should be worn. We will keep class windows and doors open, so make sure your child has a black jumper or cardigan to keep warm. THIS YEAR ONLY, trainers can be worn – preferably black. No high heels, sandals or flip-flops please.

In Class 9, your child will have PE on Monday and Friday.

In Class 10, your child will have PE on Monday and Friday.

In Class 11, your child will have PE on Monday and Friday.

In Class 12, your child will have PE on Monday and Tuesday.

In Class 13, your child will have PE on Monday and Tuesday.

On these days, your child needs to come to school in their PE kit including trainers. See pictures below. PE will take place outside so wear a tracksuit. Do not bring a PE bag into school. Thank you.

Bring a named water bottle in every day and take it home every night to be washed.

Homework and Reading
Children will be given homework each week in their red homework book. It will be given out on Friday and handed back in on Tuesday. Each week, we will check that this is completed. Please read with your child every night and write in their reading diary.

Speaking with the class teacher
It won’t be as easy to speak to your child’s class teacher at the classroom door as before. If we need to speak to you we will text you during the school day so you know we would like to talk to you, or you can email us with your question or concern.

After School Clubs

During the second half of Autumn term, year 3 and 4 can attend after school clubs. If you receive free school meals there is no charge for the clubs. Otherwise there is a £1.00 charge. On club days your child will need to wear their PE kit in school.

Thank you for your support,

Year 3-4 Team
